Special Care Consultation Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply specifically to the Special Care pre-grooming consultation. By booking a consultation, you ("the owner") agree to the following.

1. Mandatory Consultation

1.1 All Special Care grooming services must begin with a mandatory pre-grooming consultation conducted by our specialist groomer, Ryohei.

1.2 No Special Care grooming appointment can be booked or scheduled until the consultation has taken place and a quotation has been issued and accepted.

1.3 To help us prepare for your consultation, you will be asked to share background information about your dog including what has prompted the enquiry for Special Care grooming prior to the appointment.

2. Booking & Payment

2.1 The consultation fee is $100, payable at the time of booking.

2.2 The consultation fee is non-refundable, including in cases of cancellation, no-show, or late arrival (see Sections 3 and 6).

2.3 The consultation fee covers the assessment and deliverables outlined in Sections 4 and 5 below. It does not include any grooming services.

3. Duration & Arrival

3.1 The consultation will take approximately 15–30 minutes, depending on your dog's individual needs.

3.2 Please arrive on time for your scheduled consultation. In line with our Special Care grooming policy, no grace period applies - the consultation timer begins at the confirmed booking time regardless of arrival time.

3.3 If you arrive late, Ryohei will do his best to accommodate you within the remaining time. If insufficient time remains to properly conduct the assessment, the consultation may be shortened or rescheduled at our discretion. The consultation fee remains non-refundable in this circumstance.

4. Scope of the Consultation

The consultation includes:

Assessment

  • Current health & behavioural assessment
  • Grooming history review
  • Hands-on observation & communication with the dog
  • One-on-one Q&A with Ryohei

Simple Health Check

  • Hair condition
  • Skin condition
  • Teeth condition
  • Reaction to touch (e.g. brushing, ear cleaning)

4.1 The consultation is an assessment only. It does not include any grooming, bathing, trimming, or other service to the dog.

4.2 The consultation is a professional, visual, and hands-on observational assessment. It is not a substitute for veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

5. Deliverables

Following the consultation, you will receive:

  • A personalised grooming plan report, valid for 3 months from the date of the consultation
  • A service quotation for the recommended Special Care grooming service(s)
  • A copy of our Special Care Grooming Terms & Conditions for your review
  • A veterinary consent form for completion (see Section 7)

5.1 The grooming plan report and quotation are based solely on your dog's condition and information provided at the time of the consultation. If more than 3 months pass, or your dog's condition changes materially before the grooming appointment, a new consultation and/or updated quotation may be required at our discretion.

5.2 Receiving a grooming plan and quotation does not guarantee a grooming appointment will proceed. Booking and payment for the grooming appointment itself is a separate step, governed by our Special Care Grooming Terms & Conditions.

6. Cancellations & Rescheduling

6.1 Consultations may be rescheduled free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice.

6.2 No-shows and late cancellations less than 24 hours forfeit the full consultation fee.

7. Veterinary Consent

7.1 As part of the consultation process, you will be asked to complete a veterinary consent form, authorising us to contact your veterinarian and/or seek veterinary treatment on your dog's behalf if required during a future grooming session.

7.2 We may recommend, or require, veterinary sign-off before proceeding with grooming for dogs with certain health conditions identified during the consultation.

8. Outcome of Consultation

8.1 Following the assessment, Ryohei may, at his professional discretion:

  • Recommend proceeding with Special Care grooming as quoted;
  • Recommend a modified grooming plan, additional precautions, or veterinary clearance before grooming can proceed; or
  • Decline to offer grooming services if the assessment indicates an unacceptable level of risk to the dog's health or safety.

8.2 The consultation fee remains payable and non-refundable regardless of outcome, as it covers the professional assessment and deliverables provided, not a guaranteed grooming booking.

We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The version in effect at the time of booking will apply.

By completing payment for your consultation, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Consultation Terms & Conditions.
